Who Else Writes Like...?, that indipsensable fiction guide beloved of librarians everywhere, is now online and available to all our borrowers, in library and at home, 24 hours a day!
Although quite a small and simple database when compared to products like NoveList, it nonetheless reproduces the full content of the print edition with the following extra features:

  • Searching options include A-Z browse by author, genre or prize name, and simple keyword searching across Author, Character (e.g. Rebus), Occupation (e.g, DI, DC) Environment (e.g. Yorkshire, Boston, etc.) or Series .

  • Crossover Authors is a useful innovation in the online edition which offers a "reliable selection of authors to introduce older teenagers to adult fiction". You can access this feature as a complete list of authors, or just keep an eye out for the little bridge symbol next to an author.

  • Content is updated quarterly: there are now over 200 more authors in the online version than are in the current (6th) edition of the book, including some authors re-instated from earlier editions.

There are links to this database from our Readers Guides page and the Online Databases list.
So jump in and familiarise yourselves with this new addition to the library's online resources and please promote it to our customers.
