Healthy Eating for Older Adults Workshop
The workshop has secured a big five enrolments in its 1st week promotion, hooray!! It is all due to the team members' big effort to putting up two big green banners on the library windows, handed out workshop leaflets to local health and community centres (Astrid walked (10 minutes) all the way up to the Caringbah Women's Health Centre which was still on holiday break. But...clever Astrid inserted the flyer through the crack under the door to pass the message). When handing out the flyer to library users, I shortened the workshop's name to "Healthy Eating workshop" as people dislike the words "older adults". Most of them said they are having sensible eating all the time. Some said they can borrow "healthy eating" books from Library will do the trick. One customer told me she's a vegetarian and eats a lot of "fruits" everyday, but when I asked her if she know how much sugar contain in the fruits, she told me she will consider to come to the workshop.

Hi Becky,
So glad to know the workshop is gaining attention and popularity from customers. It's interesting to hear that people don't like the term 'older adults' I'll keep that in mind for future activities we run for seniors. Thank you to all branches who have created beautiful displays and put up flyers, I hope the workshops attract many interested people - some who may not have come into the library before.
