ALIA Members

I do not know how many of you are ALIA members, or if you wonder why you are or why you should be?

I just thought I would let everyone know about the PD Postings they provide as a service each month. I signed up to (yes another) this newsletter, so I could see what our professional body was seeing as the important/current issues we need to be across.One can sign up to their Professional Development Scheme where you accrue points for what you read, investigate or attend from these listings. This is not obligatory, but could improve a CV.

I have not I do not investigate everything on the list when it arrives. I might only read the synopsis, but at least I know there are people out there talking about stuff like Curation, digital records or the economic contributions of libraries.
What I found out in this month's newsletter was that:

The EBL ebook Library online package is available free to all ALIA members, as well as the ProQuest LIS Journals online package, available free to all ALIA members.

This may be of interest to any of you studying out there, or those looking to 'read mobily' (?) on a professional topic were we do not have a title.
