Where in the website is....????
In the heat of the moment, with the adrenaline rush that comes from
having a reference question (rather than a printing issue) do you
sometimes forget where to go for access to the IELTS database? Or
Ancestry or the Computer training database?
So
where is IELTS, I hear you ask? Type ielts into Encore, look for the
Online facet (the lists down the left hand side), or just the electronic
icon (phone or ebook reader screen)
Then worry no more, just rely on the librarian's age old friend, 'the catalogue', a.k.a. Encore!
A
year on from the introduction of Millennium, the dust has settled
enough for us to start seeing the magnificent view we have
aquired. Ignore the website (not totally, but in this instance anyway).
Choose Encore everytime, to dispell your uncertainty. The resource of FIRST resort!!
Look
in the record and see the "Available Online" link, click on it and be
taken straight to the information page for that resource.
IELTS [electronic resource] : English for international opportunity
/ British Council, IDP IELTS Australia, University of Cambridge ESOL Examinations

The
Computer training database can be found the same way. Type computer
training into Encore, find the Online record click on the Database Link
and be taken to the info page on the website.
This
should work for all our databases even Sydney Morning Herald, in all
it's guises! Accessible online from 1831 - 1995 and 2006 - present.
I hope these reminders help you feel confident you can find the access to any resource we have via Encore, our 'discovery layer'. If you find any which do not work this work this way let me know.
(PS. sorry about the screen shots but they are from my phone)
Cheers Jacinta
