Sexy & Sexier?
http://www.flickr.com/photos/albaum/1356519239/I came across this photo today. As you can see by the comments below the picture people are in two minds over whether this is an outrageously stereotypical ad that should be removed or whether it is a compliment to Librarians who are portrayed as 'sexy' - the Reader is just sexier.
What do you think? I personally think it's a funny ad and if you dig a bit deeper Sony are actually partnering with US libraries to create a Sony Reader Library Program powered by Overdrive. A supportive move I would say and not an example of a brand trying to supersede the Librarian - more promote them?
An interesting look at e-reader advertising. Have you noticed any advertising in Australia for e-readers other than online?

I think this is pretty funny too. Judging by the number of comments, and the fact that it has caught your attention, I'd say this has been pretty successful way to create awareness of the Reader for Sony(Clever word play too). Despite all those ruffled librarian feathers out there, there are customers who will buy the Reader,(hopefully download some titles from Overdrive) and indeed, find it sexier than a librarian.
I thought it was hilarious and they were making a big deal out of nothing. For the record I think I could show the e-reader a thing or two about sexy. Ha ha.
I'm with Karen on this one.....and we will leave it right there
Have a look at that magazine that we get called Australian T3: the gadget magazine
