An Outreach Librarian says "It's narrated in the 1st person by Elizabeth I but it really sounds like a man writing Elizabeth's words, which is a bit off-putting. Other than that, the story is quite engaging in an Indiana Jones kind of way."

"An Outreach Librarian is reading a classic sci fi novel called "Consider Phlebas". This is the first Science Fiction novel of Iain M Banks an author who was to become a multi genre award winner and who tragically died of cancer in 2013."
